"The God of mission has given his church to the world. It is not the church of God that has a mission in the world, but the God of mission who has a church in the world."

So say John and Olive Drane in the paper, Reformed and Reforming, presented to the General Assembly of 2011. It is with this urging to a missionary Church that the Parish Development Committee is offering a resources event which will take place in six venues throughout Hamilton Presbytery in the spring of 2012.

Local Venues

To enable easy access from every congregation, we’ve spread out around the presbytery and we’re running a roadshow in: Hamilton, Wishaw, Motherwell, East Kilbride, Airdrie and Uddingston.

Local Support

Connecting Points is a local initiative, run by Hamilton Presbytery for Hamilton Presbytery and is being organised by the local Congregational Development Office, Rev Keith Ross.

Who Should Come?

These events are for anyone in your congregation who has a desired to make a difference in the life and work of your fellowship and community. We hope that each church might send 6-10 folks to their nearest roadshow.

Key Themes

Focusing on four key themes: Mission, Nurture, Community and Communication, a jigsaw motif will be our visual focus and will help you find the right place and shape for your work.

Resources

Each roadshow will feature some “take home” resources and any additional resources will be made available on this website, where possible after the roadshow.
